Macau is a fast developing city that has undergone a massive transformation since 2002, and the de-regulation of the gaming industry.
Foreign investment has flooded into Macau, and gaming licenses have been given to six concessionaires and their subsidiaries;
- Las Vegas Sands (The Venetian)
- Wynn Resorts
- Melco Crown
- Galaxy Resorts
By the end of 2014, gaming revenue in Macau was roughly 10 times that of Vegas. The beginning of 2015 has seen revenue drop from an all-time high, and whilst the long term prospects look very good indeed for Macau, some ups and downs are expected.
With limited land space of just over 30 sq km, the astounding growth has fuelled Macau’s economy, and property prices haven risen dramatically. Macau's unique location and proximity to China, its history and gaming policies have created one of the fastest growing and exciting cities in the world.
